CNC Turned Parts
CNC-turned precision parts are used across a wide range of industries, from mechanical engineering and pneumatics/hydraulics to aerospace.
At Hirsch, we utilize state-of-the-art CNC-controlled machines to manufacture precision turned parts for both small and large production runs. We produce components based on your individual specifications using free-cutting steel, brass, aluminum, and stainless steel. Our core strength lies in machining diameters from 10.00 mm to 200.00 mm, with bar feeds up to 63.00 mm. Manufacturing tolerances are closely monitored using a modern 3D CNC coordinate measuring machine.

Surface coatings can be applied to turned parts to provide subsequent corrosion protection. This is particularly necessary when, for technical or economic reasons, materials without inherent corrosion resistance are used in manufacturing. When stainless materials are used, additional corrosion protection is typically unnecessary.
Moreover, surface coatings can also enhance the functional or visual properties of the turned parts. Below is a selection of surface treatments we offer. If the treatment you require is not listed, please feel free to contact us.
Surface Treatment | Note |
---|---|
Zinc Plating | Electrolytic zinc plating is the most commonly used and cost-effective method of corrosion protection for technical springs. |
Zinc Plating with Passivation | Electrolytic zinc plating followed by passivation is a cost-effective method to achieve good corrosion protection for technical springs. |
Nickel Plating | Electrolytic zinc plating followed by passivation is a cost-effective method to achieve good corrosion protection for technical springs. |
Chrome Plating | Chrome-plated parts are decorative and have good heat and corrosion resistance. |
Pickling | Pickling removes chemically bonded impurities from the surface. |
Copper Plating | Copper plating is used as a base layer for subsequent surface treatments but can also serve as a color marker for springs. |
Bluing (Black Oxide) | An iron oxide layer forms on the treated parts, giving them a deep black surface. Oiling provides corrosion protection. |
Phosphating | Phosphating serves as corrosion protection and a bonding base for paints and coatings, and is used as a preparation step for cathodic dip coating (KTL). |
Zinc Flake Coating | This is an environmentally friendly coating system that meets growing corrosion protection requirements. These coating methods are chromium-free and contain no heavy metals. Other features include high temperature resistance and minimal hydrogen embrittlement. |
Cathodic Dip Coating (KTL) | KTL is an immersion painting process that meets the highest quality standards for corrosion protection and resistance to underfilm corrosion. |
Powder Coating | Powder coating is a suitable process when a scratch- and impact-resistant surface with high corrosion protection is required. |
Gleitmo | Gleitmo is an air-drying dry lubricant. Its active component is specially treated PTFE. Temperature range: -180°C to +250°C. Offers low friction, is clean and grease-free, and suitable for food contact. |
Tin Plating | The main advantage of tin plating lies in its good solderability. |
Silver and Gold | Silver and gold provide highly glossy and premium surfaces for decorative and technical applications. |
Trowalizing/Vibratory Finishing | This surface treatment removes stamping or cutting burrs, but provides only limited corrosion protection. |
